Conveyor Blet Mechanic

Company Overview: Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Conveyor Belt Mechanic with successful and progressive experience in day-to-day preventative maintenance and repair of all types of Airport equipment, Conveyors, and all other equipment within the Cargo and Airport baggage conveyor belts.               

Position Summary: The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a mechanic and/or a combination of technical education and mechanical experience along with electrical basic background.

Responsibilities:

  • Placing the utmost importance on working safely and maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others at all times.
  • Execute the plant preventive maintenance program.
  • Effectively maintain airport equipment, primarily related to conveyors equipment, while learning the balance the Conveyors, and all other equipment within the Airport.
  • To be fully proficient with all machinery in order to assist maintenance workers and/or training as needed.
  • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, etc. Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
  • Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts. Orders replacement parts. Inspects completed repairs.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Requisitions new parts and equipment.
  • Can perform all requirements of a maintenance mechanic.
  • Strong working knowledge of all facets of electrical controls and procedures.
  • Responsible for inventory control on service truck
  • Must have the ability to researching parts in manuals, complete material requisitions, follow-up on parts orders, as well as returning cores and unused parts
  • Must have open line of communication with the Superintendent
  • Responsible for completing daily activity plans, identify job hazards, developing and meeting schedules
  • On-site repairs and maintenance at airport jobsite locations

Qualifications:

  • Technical education related to mechanical, electrical and refrigeration is required.
  • Must have 5-7 years of experience.
  • Safely operates various shop-related equipment.
  • Mechanical experience with regard to varied kitchen and distribution center machinery.
  • Layout constructs additional electrical circuits or deleted circuits. Update any changes to electrical schematics
  • Diagnosis of electrical problems using various meters and related equipment
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of three-phase motors and control circuits.
  • OSHA safety requirements.

  • Must be able to work easily and skillfully with hands; climb and work at heights, work in confined spaces and around water
